Pampering the Prince

We departed the Vale of the White Horse but without having had anything to eat.  I felt very lethargic when it came to getting the jolly old bike rolling.    Legs did not want to move. We had a short ride back to Lower Shaw Farm in Swindon. We would be based there for the day.  Slowly but surely we made it.   About twelve miles in total.  On arrival we were offered a lovely breakfast.  Most welcome.   There was plenty to get on with. The spare parts had arrived for Richard's bike.  By the end of the trip I am sure that the bike will have been completely rebuilt. A new wing mirror and a stand for the trailer.   Apart from the bike needing some work the artiste was in need of some attention and so it was that a massage was arranged in order to restore his back to working order.  No such luxury for yours truly.  One or two chores to complete. Went into town on my bike to secure bolt to attach the stand to the trailer only to get to the shop and discover I had left my wallet behind.  Cycled back to the Lower Shaw farm and repeated the trip. Got back in time to complete the third video blog.  Just before dinner I found out that the pampering of our prince was not over as he was invited to take a sauna. Tough at the top.          We enjoyed a meal around the family table. Richard played and was invited to take on role of Door Opener. A family tradition in the summer when the outer kitchen door is opened to let in the warmth and openness of the season.    Being very tired it was off to bed for an early night.  Tomorrow would bring a long ride followed by a gig in the evening at the Fleece near Evesham.

  1. Sorry to touch on it again Sean but your first paragraph refers, yet again, to food (or lack of). Sounds like a lovely breakfast saved the day! John is about to show me the video clips - should be interesting as long as he doesn't insist on talking me through it.
Great to hear the concerts are being so well received and fantastic news regarding the donations.
Will tune in later in the week, love to you both, Anne & John
